About
While Thomas’s international perspective informs and elevates his designs, it is his Southern sensibility that ensures his interiors and gardens remain welcoming and supremely comfortable.
Thomas’s eye is the result of invaluable training in the unique aesthetics of countries and cultures around the world. Growing up, he lived with his family in four countries as well as every region in the US, each with their own unique style. Then for three decades, he traveled extensively as creative director for LVMH and other luxury and beauty brands, where he learned the importance of heritage, craftsmanship and quality. His lifetime immersion in a wide range of aesthetics is instantly sensed in the variety of interior and landscape styles he produces.
Yet no matter what aesthetic he is channeling, Thomas’s Southern upbringing taught him order, elegance and ease is paramount to every successful design and lifestyle. Regardless where in the world they made their home, his Southern parents emphasized the importance of manners, gracious hospitality and comfort both indoors and out. Four years at the University of Virginia, a UNESCO World Heritage site noted for the rigor and elegance of its classical buildings and antique furnishings, further underlined the daily rewards of timeless design, warm hospitality and true comfort.
Now based in the Hamptons outside of New York City, Thomas maintains an extensive garden of his own as well as his namesake interior and landscape design practice. Thomas is a member of ASID and ICAA.
